Halloween Bandits by Cynthia Williford Monsters, ghouls and pirates, pumpkins and candy corn, this night is full of wondrous sights that linger until morn. A cat, a bat, a Princess, a Spiderman or two, are roaming through your neighborhood and calling out to you. You hastily put on your robe your wand you take in hand. And off you venture from your home to troll about the land. Your trusty comrades back you as you fearlessly move forth. Princess is on your right flank, Spiderman’s to the North. You summon up your magic tricks to barter them for treats, and woe be unto him that thinks your treasure he can cheat. Hours later, tired, you lay down your weary head, with hoards of chocolate candy stashed beneath your downy bed. © 2005 |

Scarecrow's Lament by Cynthia Williford Although he tries his hardest, it really must be said: it isn’t easy scaring crows when you have one on your head. © 2005 ![]() |
